30-year career dedicated to Emergency Medicine. Experience includes revenue cycle operations, payer negotiations, client service and client development. Client relationships with both emergency department physician directors and the hospital c-suite. Some of our company’s longest tenured clients of over twenty years were my direct responsibility. A passionate advocate for Emergency Medicine through presentations and publications addressing the challenges faced by all emergency physicians and hospitals today.

“Avoiding Adverse Drug Events in Seniors: A Workshop to Improve Prescribing at Hospital Discharge”

 Target Audience: Emergency Medicine Physicians; Hospitalists; Advanced Practice Providers; Clinical Nurse Specialists; Social Workers; Case Managers 

Objectives: At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to: 

  • Develop individual strategies & system improvements to enhance patient safety through safe prescribing practices
  • Identify errors & hazards in care by understanding best practices in prescribing to older adults (e.g. EQUIPPED – Enhancing Quality of Prescribing Practices for Older Adults Discharged from the Emergency Department)
  • Acquire knowledge to avoid pitfalls in prescribing in commonly encountered clinical scenarios

Participants will earn risk management and opioid CME.
CSUs will be provided for nurses.
